Beschreibung
The OCP is a true plug-and-play communication module engineered specifically for Rockwell Automation’s 1769 CompactLogix platform.
Secure and easy to deploy and maintain, the DIN-rail mounted OCP functions as a fiber optic media converter and a multiport network switch. It creates a fully redundant, multi-fault tolerant network for mission critical I/O and peer-to-peer applications.

FEATURES & BENEFITS
Designed for applications that require superior uptime, easy deployment and simple maintenance, our network sets up in minutes with 1 dip switch and has no software programming or system configuration. The OCP fiber optic media converter never requires any software updates, security patches, driver updates or memory flash configurations, making it secure and easy to implement.
Capabilities include:
- 30-sec MTTR (mean time to repair)
- Recovery to a stable, operational state in less than 10 seconds (no boot-up time) upon power loss
- 0-sec network convergence time on channel failure
- RSS (Return Signal Strength for Fiber Optic power evaluation)
- Works with other PDC communication modules
The OCP communication module also supports:
- Nanosecond PTP channel to channel synchronization
- Field-replaceable SFP
- Integrated signal strength capability
- 10-sec power-up
- Commonality of spares
- Suitable for Ethernet-based process instrumentation networks
- RSS
APPLICATIONS
Like all our communication modules, the OCP fiber optic media converter is used in a wide range of demanding applications in industries like water and wastewater treatment, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure. Examples include:
- RTU
- Remote SCADA sites
- PRP (parallel redundancy protocol) without configuration or modification
- IEC 61850 Power Automation Protocol
- Multimode and single-mode fiber optic cable installations
